Advanced lessons are for children who have passed Stages 2 or 4 or who meet the eligibility requirements. This class is intended to go beyond the fundamentals taught in the previous stages and to introduce students to more advanced strokes and techniques and water safety skill and such as: Treading water for 2 minutes or more, front crawl for 25 yards or more, back crawl for 25 yards or more, side stroke, elementary backstroke, standing dives and jumping from diving block into front crawl. Class goal is to enable students to master the fundamentals of swimming while improving their water safety skills and expanding their knowledge of stroke techniques and uses. ***Please note: No floatation devices will be used in these classes. Also, skills taught are not limited to the above mentioned.

Eligibility-

• Must have passed Beginner, passed shallow water swim test, or given permission by current instructor. Those who sign up for Advanced without passing Beginner will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and recommended the appropriate class
• Must be 6 years of age or older
• Must comfortable around other children and with an adult other than their parents
• Able to take and listen to instructions in a group setting
• Must be able to swim 1 length of lap pool unassisted

Rules:

• Lessons must be paid in full prior to start of first lesson
• Due to limited space on deck and other patrons using the pool, we ask that parents watch their children from outside through the windows.
• Please make sure your child meets the requirements/eligibility before signing them up for a certain class.
• Failure of child to listen to instruction, not work in a group setting, or causes multiple disruptions of class, may result in child being removed from class. If you feel your child would be more comfortable with one on one vs group please check out our private lessons
• Missed lessons on the part of the student will not be made up or credited/refunded. However. Missed lessons due to weather, instructor absences, or BRY closer will credited/refunded. Front desk will handle credits/refunds
• Classes must have a total of 2 registered participants 5 days prior to the start of the session for the class to take place. Classes with only one registered participant will be cancelled and participant will be notified. Participant can switch to another class offered, use credit on different lessons, or be refunded.
