Pre-Swim Team Swim Lessons

Remember, placing a child in the incorrect level will be a disservice to both the child and other class members. If you are not sure which level to place your child in, please contact our Aquatics Director at [email protected].

If needed, a swimming instructor will be available to evaluate your child’s skills for placement into the appropriate swim lesson level.

Pre-swim Team 1

Pre- requisites

This class is open to children ages 5-17 who have passed stage 5 swim lessons and/or able to swim 50 yards ( 2 pool lengths) without assistance and have instructors permission.

Overview

This class is intended to bridge the gap between regular group lessons and competitive swim team. Students will learn basics of the four competitive swim strikes as well as introductions to competitive swimming starts and turns.

A large portion of the class will be taught from deck by the instructor in a swim team practice format.

Pre-Swim Team II

Pre- requisites

The second stage of the pre-swim team lessons is designed for students ages 5-17 who have completed the first stage of pre-swim team and/or are able to repeatedly swim multiple lengths of the pool and have some basic understanding of the four competitive swimming strokes. This class is primarily designed for those who have a genuine interest in joining a competitive swim team.

Overview:

In this class, instructors will go further detail regarding the mechanics of the four competitive strokes as well as racing starts and turns. Students will conduct sufficient practice repetitions to prepare them to join a competitive team practice at the completion of the class.

BRY Swim Lesson Rules

Lessons must be paid in full prior to start of first lesson
Due to limited space on deck and other patrons using the pool, we ask that parents watch their children from outside through the windows.
Please make sure your child meets the requirements/eligibility before signing them up for a certain class.
Failure of child to listen to instruction, not work in a group setting, or causes multiple disruptions of class, may result in child being removed from class. If you feel your child would be more comfortable with one on one vs group please check out our private lessons
Missed lessons on the part of the student will not be made up or credited/refunded. However. Missed lessons due to weather, instructor absences, or BRY closer will credited/refunded. Front desk will handle credits/refunds.
